Happy 4th of July!!!

This year I celebrated our country’s independence by attempting to make my first flag cake! I have wanted to make one for a long time but just never have. I decided to try it this year because we are going to a party and lots of people can enjoy it…not really we have no plans, we aren’t even going to see the fireworks because Jonas isn’t a fan of loud booming noises! So, basically I have this giant sheet cake (its actually a 1/2 sheet) in my kitchen and only my husband and I around to eat it…NOT GOOD!! So, if you happen to be reading this and you know where I live (because you are a friend not a scary stalker) then please stop by and have some…PLEASE!!!

Isn’t it cute? I felt so patriotic while making it! It is the Barefoot Contessa recipe. She is my FAVORITE chef and if you haven’t heard of her or have never tried her recipe’s, you SHOULD! Her cream cheese frosting, which is what I used for this cake is ridiculous!

i am not a scary stalker type, but rather than friend, i prefer the title “neighbor.” :) i am out of town, but if there is some left on sunday night or monday, i will take a taste test. :)

Very cute. Senior year I made a flag cake on Election Day. Incidently, I also made a football cake and a Christmas tree cake that year. Your cake looks much better than mine did.

This cake was amazing! Just make sure you prepared to share many, many more 4th of July cakes with your (soon-to-be) brother-in-law. And Thanksgiving… and Christmas… and Easter… and Labor Day… and Flag Day…
