I Lied.

I know I said I wouldn’t do a project until things slowed down a bit but I found this idea to mod podge a vase and I couldn’t resist! I have some ridiculous thing with mod podge. I started getting into it when I was a teenager and ever since then I always keep a bottle handy in case I get the urge and today I had the urge.

Here’s what I did:

I took this boring clear vase (for some reason I have like 6 of these that look exactly the same underneath my sink, as if some day my husband is going to come home with 6 dozens roses and I am going to need all of them at once!)

I made it into this:

Kinda cute, right? I’m not actually sure what I am going to do with it especially since the colors don’t exactly fit with my house but I saw the idea, I had the supplies, it involved mod podge and I lost control!

Just in case…

…you needed to see it again, I know I did!

SO CUTE :)

Weekly Meal Plan

I am really excited about this weeks menu. I am making some stuff that looks really yummy and best of all I didn’t spend much at the grocery store, yay!

Monday – Mexican Lasagna - I seriously can not wait for this I have been wanting to make it for awhile but I wanted to wait for a day that I wasn’t stressed and today is perfect because I just took a test and I always feel so relaxed right after a test.

Tuesday - Rigitoni (or whatever I have) with goat cheese and baked asparagus. Asparagus was on sale this week :) I love to just throw it on a cookie sheet drizzle them with olive oil, and sprinkle salt and bake til they are nice and crispy on the tips! (400 degrees for like 10-15min)

Wednesday – leftovers

Thursday – Frozen Pizza for Brian- Starting my psych rotation.

Friday- Corn Chowder - The weather is changing a bit so I felt it was time to bust out some chowder and you CAN NOT go wrong with any Ina Garten recipe!

Saturday – Chicken and Rice Casserole - I change this recipe a bit I don’t use green beans (gross!), I use cream of chicken or mushroom instead of celery, and I use those 90 sec Uncle Ben’s bags of rice. It’s a yummy casserole!

Sunday – Leftovers!

Check it out!

I LOVE finding new blogs with fun craft ideas. I found this one today and had to share! You have to check it out especially the DIY section. I am definitely going to try one of them as soon as life slows down, so like in 6 months :(

Anyway check it out and if you are like me and love to attempt these types of projects even though they never turn out like the original PLEASE let me know or better yet blog about and if you don’t have a blog you should:)

Oh baking, how I missed you.

Today I got to bake a cake for my sister’s birthday, which is tomorrow. I have been on this whole sweets fast so my baking came to a screeching hault a couple weeks ago and I have seriously been going CRAZY! Not only because I love sweets and crave them daily but also because I just love to bake. The blending, the spreading, the measuring…ALL of it! I decided on this lovely recipe because it looks ridiculously good and Dawn is a big fan of cream cheese frosting. Sadly, I will not get to have a piece but honestly just getting to make it was enough…who am I kidding it will be next to impossible for me to not have a piece but I am sure as heck going to try!

Here it is in ALL ITS GLORY!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAWN!!!!

This weeks meal plan.

Last week was a little crazy and we ended up with alot of leftovers so I am moving some recipes from last week to this week.

Monday: Brian caught some snapper saturday night so we are frying it up tonight!

Tuesday: Porkchops that I didn’t get to last week.

Wednesday: Ham and Cheese Omelets…yum!

Thursday: Hospital Food – this will be my last day at gardens medical then I move to Oakwood for my psych rotation, scary!

Friday: Going out to eat for Dawn’s Birthday!

Saturday: Baked Pasta with Spinach, Ricotta, & Prosciutto

Sunday: NADA!

Yay for water wings!

Ok I wrote a post awhile back about finding the perfect flotation device for Jonas to use at the pool so I thought I would show you a little clip of his water wings in action! I also got a new toy (a flip camera) which makes it ridiculously simple to upload short video clips so I will most likely be uploading lots of clips cause I can and its fun so sorry if it gets old, but you will just have to endure it until the newness wears off :)

Please ignore my bossy comments I make towards my husband. I am not normally that bossy. HA! Also sorry about the quality I am working on figuring out how to improve it when I upload because that seems to be the problem. Any suggestions???

More Dawn & Bob Pics!

Dawn and Bob’s photographer posted some more pics. These are from their morning after session they are SOOOO great!!!! Go check them out:

KALLIMA PHOTOGRAPHY

Probably not a good idea :)

Jonas got fingerpaint for his birthday and I was really excited to try it out! He loves the feeling of different textures and I just thought he would totally dig fingerpainting. I’m sure you can see where I am going here…it didn’t exactly go as planned. I was right in that he loved the feeling but he was totally not interested in painting on the nice clean poster paper I had set up for him!

So here is how it went:

Jonas’ thoughts: This stuff is cool!!!

Jonas’ thoughts: What do you mean I have to paint on the paper…this is totally LAME!!!!

Jonas’ thoughts:  I’ll just paint my toes instead :)

Mom’s thoughts: ok ALL DONE!

Weekly Meal Plan

Sorry I missed last weeks plan, I know you all were dying to know what we were going to have:) Anyway here’s the plan this week. We are really on a budget this week so the meals are pretty simple and incorporate alot of ingredients I had laying around. Ok enough rambling…

Monday – We are going out to dinner to celebrate Brian’s mom’s birthday.

Tuesday – Turkey Burgers and steamed veggies

Wednesday – Buttermilk baked chicken with sweet potatoes. I had to buy buttermilk for something else which I hate because it always comes in those big cartons and I never need that much so I found this recipe to use some of it up, I hope it’s good!

Thursday – Leftovers for Brian, hospital food for me.

Friday – Apple cider pork chops and spinach salad.

Saturday – Crockpot chicken and dumplings – ok this is soooo bad but I don’t get to eat sweets so I have to be bad somewhere!!

Sunday – Leftovers!
