My little monkey!

About a week and half ago Chick-Fil-A was having a fall family fun night with free kids meals, ice cream, balloon animals all that fun stuff if you brought your kids in with their costumes. I thought it would be a fun time and a chance to get some extra use out his costume and to of course get some photos! The restaurant wasn’t the best spot for whipping out the camera for pictures so we went to a park afterwards to get a couple shots. My brother and sister in law and their little one Grace came with, so it was also a good chance for them to run around and wear themselves out a bit before bed time!

They’re here!!!

Dawn and Bob got their wedding photos today! Dawn came over and we looked through them which took like 3 hours!! Not really but there were a ton. She said I could post some and so I went through and pulled out some of my favorite family ones since we’ve all seen enough of dawn and bob. Just kidding

Just in case you forgot these were all taken by Rebekah of Kallima Photography. She did an amazing job! I seriously wish I would have know about her when I got married except we had like a zero dollar budget for a photographer so that might not have worked out

Weekly Meal Plan

I got nothing! Sorry to disappoint but I have 4 exams over the next 2 weeks therefore my husband and I will be eating mostly pb&j, grilled cheese and whatever other scraps I can find to eat! This is basically the home stretch!!!! Once I complete these 4 tests I will begin my 5 weeks of preceptor which is basically an internship for nurses and then I graduate!! I can hardly believe it. I am so excited, nervous, anxious, tired, etc. I will be back with menus in a couple weeks so stay tuned…

The Gap should be ashamed!

I am bad with days they sort of blend together for me. I am not sure if that’s a stay at home mom thing or just a me thing but anyway the other day the Gap was having an event at the mall that you could take your child to the store and receive “professional” photos. Now I have, as you all know, more than enough photos of Jonas it borders on ridiculous, so I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to bother but my sister happened to be at the mall that day (shocking:) ) and called me up to tell me about it and that the line wasn’t long so I though ah why not. I get there and there are about 4 or 5 moms there with their kids all dressed waiting for pics. Jonas was not dressed up, in fact I he still had bed hair from his nap! I sort of felt like a bad mom for a second until it was our turn. The first thing I notice is the lady taking the picture has a name tag that says she is a basically a regular gap employee…strange. Then I notice that she is holding a glorified throw away camera!!! Are you kidding me people! I mean I know its free and all but why the HECK would you advertise for free PROFESSIONAL photos and get people all excited and go through the trouble of dressing up their kids in their Sunday best for a couple pictures with a throw away. It was definitely false advertising to say the least. I seriously almost said “you know what I don’t have time for this” and walked off but I thought what the heck we will take the pictures and it will at least be good blogging material! And boy was I right take a look at their fine craftsmanship. This is seriously the best shot:

Weekly Meal Plan

My friend Darah suggested I try Ina Garten’s Roasted Vegetable Soup so I decided to go for it and since I LOVE Ina Garten I decided to make it an Ina Garten week! Some of her recipes can be pretty involved so I’ve selected some recipes of hers that are not too difficult.

Monday – Roasted Vegetable Soup 

Tuesday – Chicken Piccata with Roasted Red Potatoes

Wednesday – Linguine with Shrimp Scampi

Thursday – Nada

Friday- Portabello Mushroom Lasagna - I read the reviews and it says to use less nutmeg 1/2 tsp and add a little Mozzerella, so that’s my plan for this one.

Saturday- Frozen Pizza
